Gussy is a video installation that tells the story of a woman who loses her composure while making gelatin molds. She realizes, in the midst of decorating these desserts, that it is more exhilarating to destroy than to create. As the decorations for the molds become more and more absurd, so does her behavior towards them. By merging a hyper-feminized character from a bygone era with a scene of “hysterical” entropy, I explore the mythological notion of destruction as inherently female.
